"Ara Pacis Mundi " Medea (Gorizia ) Italy

Ara Pacis is a monumental complex settled in Medea , small village near Gorizia (Italy) , place of one of the best vineyards area of the north eastern region of Italy called "collio ".
Unfortunately this area during the First World War was famous for its cruel battles and thousands of dead.
The Italian government in 1951 decided to celebrate fallen soldiers of all wars building a memorial .
The project was carried on by architect Mario Baciocchi .
In the middle of this monument there is an area with a bronze urn containing ground coming from 800 war cemeteries.
A writing says in Latin : Odium parit mortem, vita progignit amor
(Hate generate death, love generate life)

I really fall in love with the lines of this buildings.
It's so simple but so majestic and reminds me some Japanese temples.
Strict architecture is simple but the general effect is wonderful!
